Planning Film Review

Film review Title

Explanations for my posters:

I did 2 different types of film reviews, one on paper and one typed. They both included important elements of a film review. The film review title, images from the short film, paragraphs explaining the film review and most importantly the ratings of the short film. I did two different versions because it allowed me to style them differently and come up with two separate ideas, which gave me a basis to start our film review with.

 Planning Film poster

  • An image of one of the main character here in full size leaning against the title.

This shows that whatever is writen as the title is conflicting with the character and stoping them from moving forward

This images' lighting will be slightly bright

Colour

The colour scheme for the poster will be dull colours to portray the mood of the characters

  • The title wll be light grey

  • Images will have a white background (in front of a white wall)

  • Credits will be writen in white

  • The image on this side will be of the other personality of the main character.

  • Also with their back against the title to forshadow how hey will be deliberately seperated in the film.

  • The lighting of this will be dim to signify the emotion the character is feeling at the time.

Title

The title will be in the in the middle of the poster

It is here to be a block between the two images ofthe characters on either side to represent the distance created between the characters (although together they are being kept apart)

Final Choice For Poster

Image

The character reaching out and trying to get hold of her own mind

The mind is however too self absorbed to pay attention to what the character needs and doesn't make the effort of reaching back.

The climbing frame symbolises what the character wants/needs to be: a child but the mind isn't co-operating with her

Colour

  • The backround is in black and white to represent the character's state of mind - which is that she is seeing things simplified when in fact they are more complex then her mind perceives.

  •  Lack of colour = lack of understanding/awareness

Realism

The whole point is to contridict realism because people's minds do not appear in human form.

The all black costume is to represent the lack of identity that the character portrays.

Setting

The image taken in a park to signify that she is still a child even though she may not see herself as one

We wanted to portray her innocence because parks are where children go to play
